Nobody talks about this part of being a high-performer

As we close out June and head into July, I’ll be really honest…

‍

I’ve had moments this year where I felt drained, foggy, or just a little off. 

‍

Not for lack of wins. Not for lack of effort.

‍

But because even when the business looks good on paper, it may not always feel good in real life.

‍

As some of you know, I have sacrificed almost everything to build GO! Coaching.



I feel a deep responsibility to guide hundreds of Loan Officers in our community every day alongside our now almost 30+ full time team members within GO!.

‍

They need the best of me.

‍

I have to keep my cup filled in order to passionately and patiently pour into all these incredible people.

‍

Starting with my being the best for my wife and daughter. 

‍

That’s why I’ve invested the past 30 days doubling down on something most people never track:

‍

PEMS

‍

Your Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual well-being.

‍

This isn’t fluff, so please don’t stop reading. 

‍

This is fuel.

‍

You can’t scale what’s burning out.

‍

You can’t lead from fumes.

‍

And you definitely can’t sustain high performance if you’re misaligned behind the scenes.

‍

So here’s what I’ve been doing to protect my capacity—so I don’t just finish 2025 strong, I finish whole.

‍


‍

Physically:

‍

I hired a personal trainer (4x/week) because I needed accountability and focused direction on what to do.

‍

The hardest weight is the front door to the gym, and I tell you what:

‍

I am in a much better mood after 45 minutes of no BS screenless strength training. 

‍

Secondly, exercise is only half the battle.

‍

Good nutrition and good sleep must also match.

‍

So I decided to hire a nutritionist as well. 

‍

She ran three rounds of lab work—blood, hormone, and food sensitivity testing.

‍

I now have a precise game plan: what to eat, what to avoid, and exactly what supplements my body needs throughout the day. 

‍

I also added three 30-minute sessions per week at Stretch Zone—a guided, one-on-one assisted stretching program that’s helped me:

‍

  • Improve flexibility and posture
  • Recover faster from workouts
  • And releasing trapped tension 

‍

All this has been an absolute game-changer for recovery and longevity.

‍

“Wait Amir, I don’t have the budget to drop all that money”

‍

First off, all the above won’t cost you more than $1,500 a month or so. 

‍

And I promise you, if you sat down and completed a full income and expense audit, you can re-capture the $1500 to reappropriate into your most important investment that yields the highest return:

‍

YOU.

‍

Now, back to the PEMS. 

‍


‍

Mentally:

‍

I completely rebuilt my nighttime routine:

‍

  • No food 3 hours before bed
  • No liquids 2 hours before
  • No screens 1 hour before
  • Fiction-only reading to wind down my brain

‍

Asleep by 10pm.

‍

Up at 5am.

‍

First thing:

  • 8oz of Acqua Carpatica water
  • 15 minutes of scripture and prayer 
  • 30 minutes of business reading (just finished Main Street Millionaire by Codie Sanchez—highly recommend)
  • NO coffee until at least 6am (cortisol timing matters)
  • NO phones, emails, Slack, texts, or social media until 7am

‍

That 5–7am window is sacred.

‍

It’s where clarity, calm, and creativity happen—because at the end of the day, it’s how you start your day 😉

‍


‍

Emotionally:

‍

  • Weekly courtship block, a date night (or day) planned ahead every Sunday night so I continue to fall in love with my wife (happy spouse, happy house is da truth). 
  • Weekly contribution block , I unplug from sales and give one hour to a nonprofit I support (First Home IQ)
  • Weekly connection block: Then I block 3 hours for unstructured connection—calls with people in my personal or professional life. No pitch. No agenda. Just space for deeper, real conversations

‍

These blocks aren’t just calendar fillers—they're emotional safeguards. 

‍

They remind me that relationships need rhythm, generosity requires intentionality, and connection thrives in margin. 

‍

It’s not about balance. 

‍

It’s about being where my feet are—fully present with the people who matter most.

‍


‍

Spiritually:

‍

I start each day with 5 quiet minutes in John Maxwell’s devotional, Leadership Promises for Every Day.

‍

Each entry takes a single scripture and weaves it into real-world leadership—something I can immediately reflect on and apply.

‍

It keeps me anchored in who I am, not just what I do for living.

‍

Having that early morning quiet time to reflect is powerful.

God speaks loudly to us in the early mornings.  

‍


‍

So why am I sharing this?

‍

I hope this impacted you today. 

‍

Because I’ve been the guy who hit every metric… and still felt misaligned inside.

‍

Because I’ve seen how easy it is to crush a quarter and lose yourself in the process.

‍

And because I’ve learned that sustainability requires intentionality.

‍

So please, take a moment to design your week ahead to write your PEMS plan.

‍

Ask yourself:

  • What’s something to subtract that’s been draining me?
  • What’s one rhythm I need to protect moving forward?
  • Who’s one person I can talk to with zero filter?

‍

High performers don’t just close a lot of loans. 

‍

They last.

‍

And they do it by staying aligned.

‍

Because it’s not how good you’re doing, but it’s how long you’re doing good. 

‍

Let’s make the second half of 2025 not just productive—but peaceful, powerful, and personal.

‍
