This one client almost ruined my year

You ever had a client that drains the life out of you?

A few years back, I took on a borrower who checked every red flag box:

❌ Unresponsive

❌ Over-demanding

❌ Constantly shopping me against competitors

But I ignored my gut. I told myself, “Just push through.”

‍

Worst. Call. Ever.

‍

That deal took 10x more energy than any other file I had -- and brought in the same revenue.

‍

And here’s the real kicker:

Because of the time I spent babysitting this one nightmare file, I missed THREE new opportunities from my top referral partner.

‍

That one client didn’t just cost me peace of mind…

‍

They cost me actual business.

‍

AND they were ungrateful. 

‍

So here’s the shift I made:

‍

I built a “Lead Filter.”

‍

Before taking on a deal, I now ask:

✅ Are they responsive?

✅ Are they respectful?

✅ Are they coachable?

‍

If they don’t hit at least two out of three? Pass.

‍

Because the truth is:

🚫 Not every deal is worth it.

✅ Protecting your energy is protecting your income.

‍

Since I launched this system in my business, it’s been nothing but productive AND peaceful.

‍

I am okay firing leads upfront. 

‍

No more abiding by “customer’s always right”.

‍

Operate with the mindset of “customer’s NOT always right FOR YOU”.

‍

Don’t let one bad client poison the whole batch.

‍
