If I woke up one day and had to start my entire LO business from scratch…
No prospects, no partners, no pipeline -- just me, a laptop, my iPhone and a license…
Here’s what I would do:
1. Pick up the phone
I’d call 5 people every day who already know me (and like me).
Not to pitch.
Just to reconnect.
Ask how they’re doing.
Listen.
Let the convo unfold naturally.
“Hi [name]! It’s [your name]! We haven’t talked in a while and I’m just calling to see how you’re doing. No pressure, but call me whenever you have a pocket of time, it’d be great to catch up. Thanks [name]!”
^that’s the voicemail script (simple and sweet), and if they pick up, use some variation of that. Be genuine because your tone will reflect that.
I would have 50+ of these conversations every week for 12 weeks.
2. Join their “4A Club”
Agent, Accountant, Financial Advisors, Family Attorney.
As you get the conversation going and have caught up with them, sense if the opportunity is right and ask this:
“...hey, I am need of adding a few great resources to my network. Do you have a trusted Real Estate Agent? [pause/listen/dig]
From there sense the conversation and ask them for their Accountant, Financial Advisor and/or Family Attorney as well.
I’d race to have 100 “mets” with these new introductions in 100 days.
3. Post quality content daily
Consume and Create.
Everyday.
Short and helpful.
Buyer tips.
Market breakdowns.
Loan product myths.
I’d pick ONE platform, post ONE time ONCE a week:
1x1x1
And then ramp it up to 3x, then 5x, then 7x a week.
My goal would be have 1k+ friends or 1k+ followers that are Realtors (for example).
I will eventually win every point-of-thought and illustrate that I am a person of value and consistency.
4. Never eat alone
I would not go a single week without have 5+ mind-to-minds (1:1 in-person meetings) over a beverage or food.
Heck, I would double that to 10x a week.
Lunch at 1pm, Coffee/Tea at 2:30pm at the same location (“homecourt advantage”).
5. Domain Mentors
I would pay way less dumb taxes, arrogance taxes, ignorance taxes, and isolation taxes by seeking out mortgage mentors that I would trade places with and then connect with them every week (Fridays) with 1-2 questions.
Curiosity is the ultimate expression of humility and I would ask as many well prepared questions the successful people in my network.
That’s it, just like that.
