One month down, eleven more to go…

|

January 25, 2025

Vintage typewriter surrounded by floating fragments in a dark, red-tinged environment.

January is about to be in the rearview mirror.

And you know what that means.

February is “quitter’s month.”

So be honest with me…

How did January go?

Did you deliver on the goals you set out for the month?

Did you make any kind of progress?

If you feel a little short, I’ve got good news for you:

You still have 11 months to make 2025 your best year as an LO yet.

And I will tell you that just this past week, many of the Loan Officers I am speaking with have had incredibly high new lead weeks.

Their activity levels are high; their spirits are high.

The business is out there.

Right now, you’ve gotta sit down and take the time to reflect, recalibrate, and make sure you’re not just moving but moving effectively.

In other words, to calibrate.

Here’s something I encourage you to work into your Sunday Night Ritual:

1. Review Your January Wins and Losses

Take 15 minutes to break it down:

  • What worked? Double down on it.
  • What didn’t? Pivot and adjust.
  • What goals did you crush? Celebrate those wins.

This isn’t about beating yourself up.

It’s about staying honest and intentional.

I hope you are tracking your activity, and if you do, review your sales journal.

2. Revisit Your Primary Performance Indicators:

The more you focus on SIMPLE and sanity (not vanity) performance metrics, the less emotion you will have daily…

Here is an abbreviated example:

  • Outcome Indicators: Closings
  • Lagging Indicators: Leads, Preapps, Locks
  • Leading Indicators: Voice-to-Voices, Face-to-Faces

Track these.

If you don’t track, you don’t care.

And ask yourself:

  • Are my daily actions still aligned with my bigger vision?
  • What distractions pulled me off track?
  • Do I need to refine my targets for February?

Clarity breeds focus. I cannot stress this enough.

And remember to have your personal goal accounted for as well.

3. Reorganize your Calendar

A wise person once said:

Show me your calendar, and I’ll show you your priorities.

That is true.

What I say is:

Show me your calendar, and I’ll show you your commitments.

Before you go into any Monday, your week ahead must be FULLY mapped out to reflect your professional AND personal objectives.

So, in conclusion:

January is the start line, not the finish line.

And if it wasn’t the strong start you were hoping for, don’t freak out.

You’ve got the opportunity to course-correct, pick up momentum, and set the tone for the rest of the year.

So, one month down…

What are you going to do with the following 11?

Let’s make it count,

Amir

P.S. In about two weeks, I’m going to be dropping some really big news about something that can change the entire trajectory of 2025 for your LO business. Can’t give any details just yet, but trust me…

You’re going to want to keep a close eye on your inbox.
