Please Don’t Fake it Until You Make It

I hate that saying. 

‍

Confidence comes through personal and professional development, experience and our associations. 

‍

Pretending that you know more than you actually do is weak. 

‍

Honesty is strong. 

‍

It’s okay to say: “I don’t know, but rest assured I will find out.”

‍

Being inquisitive is strong.  

‍

Plus, truly successful people will spot a fake a mile away. 

‍

If you wore a fake Rolex at a horological event, the pros will spot your fake within seconds.

If you’re in a room with truly successful people, which is the right room, a fake will get noticed (unless your professional con man of course). 

‍

But if you’re in that room, and you’re true to yourself, that’s confidence and confidence attracts regardless what stage of life you’re in. 

‍

If I meet a Janitor, who presents him or herself well (wise, measured, dignified) that’s success to me.

When I listen to any subject matter “professional” speak on a topic I’m familiar with, I’ll know immediately if he or she is a “theory” person or an actual practitioner within minutes. 

‍

If you’re new to your respective industry, double down on your niche education and broadcast it. 

‍

Earn more certifications. 

‍

Faking it will NOT allow you to make it. 

‍

Face it ‘till you make it.
